Microsoft Office is a de-facto standard. The discontinued version for OS X has an appalling interface, is not very interoperable and lacks the Ribbon interface. The iWorks is not a good solution if most of the people you work with use .docx, and ppt and .xsl.

Office 2010 and 2013 are not well supported on wine (just now a preview with 2013 was shown on wine on linux). So Office 2007 is used.

Wineskin is a tool used to make ports of Windows software to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (or later). The ports are in the form of normal Mac application bundle wrappers. It works like a wrapper around the Windows software, and you can share just the wrappers if you choose (that is the strategy used here).

My criteria: how well it works, how well it integrates, can it print directly, can it use the keyboard layout of the OS X.

All the softwares shown are wrappers of wine.

• installation wasn't easy
• when installing office, it downloads .net, fonts and stuff automatically
• printing on an HP printer (first install the printer on the mac, then it appears AFAIK only if default drivers in windows exist) - prints, but crashes the app.
• couldn't find a way to add new keyboard layouts
• bad support
• open with - no actual info, couldn't make it work
• MS Word works pretty good
• Excel took a while to open a 5mb file
• Overall: works but not sufficient for me

• most of the built-in installers (IE6, Opera, Firefox...) don't work. Some of them do.
• Uninstaller on the Q&A page. Doesn't work. You can delete stuff manually.

Installation without Launcher
If you're having trouble with Launcher you can install MXL Sigma without its use.
However, you will be missing out on some Launcher configuration options and this is an unofficial method of patching D2.

Running on Mac (before 10.15 Catalina)
Install brew.sh and wine
You need to install brew and wine to run Diablo 2.

This guide assumes you have Diablo extracted into your home folder.
In this example it's ~/D2
Open Terminal.app
cd ~/D2
For windowed mode
wine Diablo 2.exe -w
For fullscreen
wine Diablo 2.exe -3dfx

Common problems and solutions
I want to play fullscreen
MXL Sigma doesn't play nicely with fullscreen and DirecDraw or Direct3D. To play fullscreen you have to use 3dfx video driver.
cd ~/D2
wine Diablo 2.exe -3dfx
Diablo crashes with ACCESS VIOLATION (c0000005)
Make sure you're running in windowed mode (-w flag) or playing fullscreen (-3dfx flag)
Generic bad character file when creating singleplayer character
Easy way is to login to The Sin War once, create a character and log in once. After that you can create characters offline.
If that doesn't work you can create missing folder structure. $WINEPREFIX is ~/.wine by default:
cd $WINEPREFIX
cd drive_c/users/<your_Mac_username>
mkdir -p 'Application Data/MedianXL/save'
Diablo crashed and I can't close it
Use Activity Monitor.app, find and kill all wine and wineserver processes

Thanks to Apple ruining 32-bit application support on MacOS Catalina it is no longer possible to run wine. There is a solution by another application named CrossOver, which is similar to wine and wineskin. You will require CrossOver version 20+ to make this work, the process is similar:
1. Create a 'bottle' - a virtual instance of a Windows machine wrapper.
2. Follow instructions above to install D2 LoD + MedianXL
